The aches and pains of the preseason are already bruising a few clubs this summer.

The BBC reports that Manchester United will be without Park Ji-Sung until December or January because of a knee injury sustained last March in a game against Blackburn. Park had surgery on it in April.

Manchester United have a few others in need of medical attention. Captain Gary Neville is close to returning from a banged up ankle and Louis “Sicknote” Saha, is attempting to come back from knee surgery. According to the BBC, Sir Alex Ferguson believes he’ll be back by mid-August–unless, of course, they get Carlos Tevez which will probably mean au revoir to Monsieur Saha.

Chelsea have also been bitten by the injury bug. Ashley Cole continues to recuperate from a bad ankle and now left back Wayne Bridge may have to have (or may have already had) surgery on his pelvis.

Who has pelvis surgery besides old people??

How this came to be is still unclear. According to ITV, the Chelsea medical staff noticed that Bridge was suffering from a hip ailment that wasn’t improving. They sent him to see an American specialist and whatever he or she saw wasn’t good because Wayne Bridge is now out for a reported three months.
